Indigenous car manufacturer Nord Motors has appointed chess genius and social impact activist behind Chess in Slums, Tunde Onakoya as its global ambassador. This was revealed by the company on their X (formerly Twitter) page. This ambassadorial appointment comes few weeks after Tunde broke the Guinness World Record playing chess nonstop at the New York Times Square for 58 hours.

For the two fast rising brands, this is a welcomed and symbiotic partnership. Tunde’s brand is gradually gaining international acceptance and appeal while Nord, has been making inroads with their brand of cars especially with their SUV offering. Tunde will hopefully give the Nord brand added brand visibility in the markets.

It is worthy to note that this is not the first time an indigenous car maker is making a statement with their support and subtle marketing. Innoson Motors few years ago supported the Big Brother Naija Reality Show with a car gift to one of the contestants.  We look forward to more collaborations.
